Pakistan's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) covers an area of about 240,000 square kilometers. Pakistan's waters, including the continental shelf, extend to 350 nautical miles from the coast. The island is widely declared one of the most beautiful natural attractions. Astola Island
Astola Island is Pakistan's largest island, also known as "Jazira Haft Talar", is the island of seven mountains. The island is located 39 kilometers southeast of the fishing port of Pasini and 25 kilometers south of the nearest coast. The island is home to many aquatic creatures large and small, one of which is the green sea turtle. Located about 25 kilometers off the coast of Balochistan in the Arabian Sea, lies a largely uninhabited island about 7 kilometers long and 2.5 kilometers wide, with pristine white cliffs surrounded by warm turquoise waters. Narrow white beaches surround the perimeter of the island. In some places, the slopes shrink inwards, forming secluded carnations. It's almost like the Mediterranean.
Bundle Island
Bundle Island is a small island off the coast of Karachi in the Arabian Sea. There is also an old Sufi shrine of Yousuf Shah on this island, so the island also has historical value that helps to identify it. Yusuf Shah's urs draws thousands of coastal residents to the island. Charna Island and Buddo Island are also near Bundle Island. With lush forests above, the island is home to aquatic wildlife including crabs, fish, and shrimp. Private sectors like Bahria Town now have plans to build an island on this island. The island is a beautiful tourist destination and will soon be adding a touch of beauty to its beauty with this project.
Khiprianwala Island
Khiprianwala Island is located in the scenic Arabian Sea, near the town of Landi and Port Qasim. The Twin Islands are located near the southeastern tip of the island. According to tourists, the island has lost most of its land due to the sea and is on the verge of drowning. It is one of the largest mangrove ecosystems in the country and is only inhabited by coastal marshes.
Tourists and explorers are often hesitant to visit this place due to the lack of necessary facilities, so it remains unexplored. However, if you plan to visit the island, you can easily rent a boat from the nearby fishermen or have them accompany you on your trip. Due to its close connection with the port of Qasim, the waters are close to the land area suitable for fishing. It is home to many delicious sea creatures and fish, which are the favorite food of Karachi people.
Buddo Island
Next on the list is Buddo Island, also known as "Dingi". It is a small island off the coast of Karachi in the Arabian Sea. The island is densely populated with an area of 60 square kilometers. There is a forest on this island. Buddo Island was developed as a result of a $50 billion urban development project overseen by the Pakistan Islands Development Authority.
Charna Island
Charna Island is another beautiful island in Pakistan, located between Sindh and Balochistan, 6 km from Mubarak Village and 9 km from Mewar River. The site is home to flora and fauna, including oysters, sea snakes, sea urchins, green turtles, abundant coral, lobsters, and crabs. Due to the abundance of fishing activities on the island, fishermen flock to the hunting season. Moreover, it is also a popular tourist destination for Karachi people. Here tourists can enjoy diving, trekking, camping, speed boating, snorkeling, wake tubes, cliff diving, and water skiing.
Shams Pir Island
Shams Pir Island is an island village located near Karachi, on the western edge of Karachi Harbor, adjacent to Kakapir and Sandspit beaches. The name of this island is dedicated to Hazrat Al-Sham Pir, whose shrine is above it. The island has about 5,000 inhabitants. There is a thick layer of mangroves surrounding the village.
Manora Island
Manora Island is a small peninsula located in the southern port of Karachi. It is connected to the mainland's sand bay by a 12-kilometer pedestrian bridge. Manora and its neighboring islands are a protective barrier between the Arabian Sea to the south and the port of Karachi to the north. Mangroves border Manora Island and Sandspit, and these forests are considered an endangered species.
Malan Island
Malan Island, also known as Pir Gaib, is a mud volcano in the Arabian Sea, 3 kilometers off the coast of Balochistan, Pakistan. It ran out of water in March 1999. The island, located 2km off the coast of Markland, reportedly collapsed due to ocean currents and strong winds, similar to, what happened to the island in the same area in 1999. However, the island floated on the water and disappeared into the sea. In 2010 the island was rediscovered and is now a popular tourist destination in Pakistan. It's a great place to visit for explorers, many of whom know about the island's existence from time to time.
