1) Hussaini Suspension Bridge

Hussaini Suspension Bridge is Known as one of the most dangerous bridges in the world. The Hussaini Hanging Bridge is only one of many precarious rope bridges in Northern Pakistan.

Over the Hunza River, connect Zarabad hamlet to Hussaini village. Hussaini is about 45 km from Aliabad Hunza and 132 km from Gilgit. This bridge is made with small wooden planks about six feet long, tied together with a strong rope. The distance between these planks is four inches and the metal cables extending from the ends of this bridge connect it to the posts (only source of support) dug deeply in the high sturdy mountains.

This bridge is about 30 years old and was recently maintained by local authorities. It’s a local river crossing point that connects two villages. The longest pedestrian bridge exists in Pakistan.

2) Danyore Suspension Bridge

Located in Gilgit-Baltistan, in the Northern Areas of Pakistan, the Danyore Suspension Bridge is a 510-foot-long bridge connected to a 10-metre curve tunnel. Dubbed “Pul-e-Sirat” (the bridge between heaven and hell), it is one of the most spectacular bridges in the world.

The bridge connects Gilgit to Danyore across the River Hunza. It was constructed in the mid-sixties. Currently, the bridge is closed to vehicles and only pedestrians are allowed to pass through after being declared unsafe by the district administration. Locals say the journey is the test of the driver’s skill and nerve and add that an abrupt stop can leave a vehicle stranded in the middle of the stream, “which is quite a frightening situation”.

3) Deosai – Skardu Bridge

This bridge is located in the Deosai National Park, in the Northern Areas of Pakistan. It is built over the ‘Bara Pani’ water, which flows towards India.
