Climate/Weather Conditions

The valley is moderate in the summers but has heavy snowfall during the winters. The best time to visit is during the spring that starts in April and ends in June to fully experience the greens.

How to get there (Accessibility)?

The recommended drive is a 4×4 vehicle as the terrain could get rough in between the valleys. Once you have left Hunza it is a 33-minute drive approximately and after the Ganish village, a road turns right leading you on the Nagar – Hopar – Hispar Road, on the same road before Hopar lies Nagar Khas.

What to do there?

Hopar valley attracts many foreign tourists from the US, Germany, China, Europe, etc. Either to participate in the high peak summit or to camp at the plains.

Once on the Karakoram Highway moving towards Karimabad, on the way to the valley, there are various Rock Carvings, of which the most famous is the one carved by the brigade of Alexander the Great.

Hopar Glacier acts as another main attraction of the valley, this glacier is colossal and a part of it is visible from Naran Valley as well. Other glaciers include Barpu Glacier and Miar Glacier. This valley is also home to Rush lake – one of the highest alpine lakes in the world.
