Lahore Canal
Initially built by the Mughals, Lahore Canal was enlarged by the British in 1861. The Canal runs through a vast area of 37 miles, from the Bambawali-Ravi-Bedian (BRB) to the town of Raiwind. The average depth of the Canal is 5 feet. The Canal is lit up and adorned according to the festival on any cultural, religious, or national celebration. The very sight of cool water on a hot day makes you feel calm. The tall trees on both sides of the Canal enhance the place's natural beauty and make your journey through Canal Bank Road memorable. The Canal Bank Road, with numerous underpasses, is a vast, signal-free road that is the first choice for commuters who want to reach their destination quickly while enjoying the natural beauty. Many youngsters come to swim in the canal in the extremely hot summers to get relief from the simmering heat. Families come in the evening to have a picnic and spend some quality time sitting beside the canal.
