Due to its historical significance within the Buddhist Community, Taxila heritage was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1980. The Taxila Museum is one of the living examples of Buddhist Civilization. The Guardian Newspaper declared Taxila heritage as the top tourist destination in 2006. The tour involves various archeological sites of the Gandhara Civilization. The sites include Mohra Moradu, Dharmarajika, Sirkap and Jaulian. Jaulian was the oldest Buddhist university.

Day 1

You can start your day by reaching the Museum in Museum morning because the opening time is 9:00 am.
You can start your tour by exploring the artifacts that are placed outdoors, in which rock inscriptions and sculptures are included.

Then you will find Gandhara Gallery, which has many artifacts from the Buddhist period in which sculptures and reliefs are included.
The museum has an ethnographic section on the clothing, customs, and crafts of the people of Swat.
After that, you will visit the coin collection area of the museum whMuseumntains many coins from several historical periods, like the Scythian, Indo-Greek, and the Kushan period.
Now you will take a break and visit the Museum on Museum restaurant, famous for Traditional Pakistani cuisines.
After lunch, you will continue your tour by visiting the Islamic gallery in the museum whMuseums many artifacts from the Islamic period like textiles, ceramics, and calligraphy.
You will end your visit by visiting the beautiful Museum garden, with many beautiful trees and flowers.
