Rightly known as the ‘roof of the world’, Skardu is nestled, against the great peaks of the Karakorum. As we drive up above the River Indus on the snaking Karakorum Highway, flanked by the fabulous scenery and the great mountainous ranges all around.
Itinerary
Day 1
• Early morning departure from Islamabad for Chilas. (approx. 12-14 hours drive) • Lunch enroute. • Pass through the greenish Kaghan Valley. • A brief stopover at Babusar Top and Lulusar Lake. • Arrival at Chilas, dinner and overnight stay at Panorama Hotel. *The journey via Babusar Pass is subject to availability, in case the pass is closed then KHH would be the alternative route.
Day 2
• Early morning departure from Chilas after breakfast to Skardu. (approx. 10-12 hours drive) • Lunch enroute. • A brief stopover at three points junction where Karakoram, Himalayas and Hindu Kush meet. • Witness the extravagent view of Nanga Parbat from KKH. • Arrive in Skardu by evening. Time free to relax and explore. • Check inn for dinner and overnight stay at Masherbrum Hotel or similar.
Day 3
• Enjoy relaxed breakfast in the morning. • Explore the Skardu town today. • Visit PTDC Motel and enjoy a guided tour of K2 Museum. • Also visit the Kharpocho Fort with a guided tour. • Drive to Katpana Desert. • Explore the cold desert and spend time at Katpana Lake. • Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at Masherbrum Hotel or similar.
Day 4
• Enjoy relaxed breakfast in the morning. • Today, visit the beautiful Shangrilla Lake. • Also visit upper Kachura Lake. • Enjoy lunch at local restuarant. • Return back to Masherbrum Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5
• Enjoy relaxed breakfast in the morning. • Departure for Deosai National Park. (2 hours drive). • Arrival and time free to wander free and explore. Take short walks around Bara Pani or enjoy a cup of tea as you stare at these endless views. • We start traveling back towards Katpanah Desert. • Brief photostop at Sadpara lake. • Dinner and overnight camping at Glamp Katpana which is Pakistan’s first ever-glamorous campsite.
Day 6
• After breakfast we depart for Chillas. (approx. 12-14 hours drive) • Lunch enroute. • Dinner and overnight stay at Panorama Hotel.
Day 7
• Departure for Islamabad after early morning breakfast. (approx. 12-14 hours drive) • Lunch enroute. • Arrival in Islamabad by evening.
