A paradise on earth, Hunza Valley stood at 2,435 above sea level, and it is one of the best places to take a break after all the hikes you did in snow lake, fairy meadows, or Rakaposhi. With its laid-back vibe, excellent cafes, and beautiful places to explore, all surrounded by beautiful landscape, you are sure to have a great time in Karimabad, the Hunza Valley capital. It’s an entirely different experience when you drive right through the mountains along the Karakoram Highway, passing through the famous Nanga Parbat, the 9th highest peak globally. This region is lovely, and the pictures don’t do it justice. Just know that it’s ten times more picturesque in real life if it looks impressive in an image.
Itinerary
Day 1
Departure from Lahore at 9:30 PM (Hotel pickup available for foreigners)
En route Islamabad via motorway or GT road, the two highways that connects the two capital cities
Breakfast in chattar plain or bisham (If Naran route is accessible then breakfast at Naran Valley) [Naran – Babusar route is accessible for 6 month a year only]
Experience the journey of the life time on the famous Karakoram highway en route Hunza Valley
Reach Chilas City by evening, over night Stay in hotel in Chilas
Dinner will be served
Day 2
Breakfast in Chilas in Gilgit Baltistan region
Departure from Chilas for the Hunza Valley
Experience the mighty KKH, On the way brief stop at Nanga Parbat View point. (View of mighty Nanga Parbat at Thalichi, meeting point of 3 greatest mountain ranges and Confluence of River Indus & River Gilgit)
Reach Hunza Valley by Noon.
Rest and Sightseeing Altit or Baltit fort in Hunza , the two ancient forts which were built for the security of Hunza valley some hundred years ago. Both are the great architectural marvels
Dinner in Hunza Valley, explore the coffee shops and visit the famous karimabad bazar, experience the culture of one of the most amazing northern cities in Pakistan. Get in touch with locals to experience the hospitality of the land
Night stay at hotel in Hunza Valley
Day 3
Breakfast in Hunza, feel the first rays of the sun on the mighty Rakaposhi peak. Experience the cold breeze of Hunza and the chirping of the beautiful birds of Hunza
Departure for Attabad Lake, the turquoise lake which is stretched across 11KMs of the great Karakoram Highway.
Visit of the Majestic Attabad Lake, enjoy boating and other water sports.
Visit the famous and mighty Passu cones, from the far end, have glimpse of Passu glacier.
Visit Khunjerab pass, which is the highest border accessible by road in the world. Khunjerab pass connects Pakistan to China. [In winters, khunjerab pass is usually not accessible]
Visit Sost valley on the way back to hunza. Sost is the final immigration post and the last civilization in Pakistan just before Khunjerab Pass
Overnight Stay at Hunza Valley in hotel
Day 4
Breakfast in Hunza Valley, Hunza valley can be visited on all four seasons and each season has its unique charm. Spring has the cherry blossom, summers is the exquisite green, Winters are wild and cold and Spring is yellow and red.
Departure for Naran valley, (During winters, when Naran route is not accessible, we shall go to Besham city instead of Naran via Karakoram Highway. ) En route Naran valley, visit the famous Babusar top, Lulusar Lake and the beautiful town of Batakundi
Reach Naran or Besham depending upon the accessibility of the route
Dinner in hotel and then overnight stay in hotel
Day 5
Early morning breakfast in the valley. hear the sound of roaring river around
Departure for Abbottabad, travel along the river road and reach Abbottabad city for lunch
Departure for Lahore, Via motorway. reach Lahore by late night.
