Nur Jahan died on 17 December 1645 at age 68. She is buried at her tomb in Shahdara Bagh in Lahore, which she had built herself. she was the Mughal emperor Jahangir's twentieth (and final) wife, and historians believe she was the true power behind the throne throughout the most of her husband's reign.
