Tomb of Anarkali

The exact date of construction of this Mughal-era tomb is not available, but 1599 or 1615 is thought to be the year of construction. According to an 18th-century historian Abdullah Chagatai, the tomb is the eternal resting place of Emperor Jahangir’s wife, Sahib-i-Jamal Begum, not of Anarkali. Many modern historians agree with this claim.
