State Bank Museum and Art Gallery

The building that now serves as State Bank Museum was constructed in the 1920s by the British in Greco-Roman style and previously used by the Imperial Bank of India. State Bank of Pakistan decided to redesign the building as a museum in 2004. State Bank Museum is the first monetary museum of Pakistan. It has different galleries such as coins gallery, currency gallery, stamp gallery, etc. Visiting State Bank Museum is unlike visiting any other museum because of its different purpose; seeing the currency notes, coins, and stamps since the creation of Pakistan till the present takes you through a journey of Pakistan's history. People come to the building to learn about the State Bank of Pakistan's history and evolution over time. They are fascinated to learn how currency notes, coins, and stamps have evolved over the decades.
