Shounter Lake

Shounter Lake is a scenic lake located in the Shounter Valley, a sub valley of the Neelam Valley, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, at an elevation of 3,100 meters. The lake is fed by the surrounding mountains' glacial water. The lake's water reflects the snowy mountain peaks and greenery surrounding the lake and gives it an eye-catching view. The lake is accessible through Kel in the Neelum valley, by a jeep track. The best time to visit the Shounter valley is from May to August because it remains snow-stricken most of the year. Tourists can reach there by a Jeep track which remains open for four or five months in the summer; otherwise, trekking is the only option to get there. The whole valley is famous for its beautiful lakes in Pakistan. The landscape and scenery of the valley are enchanting and breathtaking.
