Sethial Street

After the Sethis, the affluent businessmen whose business spread in different countries including China, India, Afghanistan, Iran, and Central Asia, Sethi Street is located in Peshawar’s old walled city. Sethi Street is famous for the seven stately homes constructed by the Sethis in the 19th century. The influence of Central Asian architecture is visible in the design of the houses. Decorated ceilings, mirror work, wood carvings, fountain, stained-glass windows, and inner courtyard are some of the main attractions of these homes. The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has bought one of the houses. During your visit to Sethi Street, you will most likely be hypnotized by the beauty of these vast mansions. Visitors flock to Sethi Street to get a feel of Central Asian architecture, a rare sight in Pakistan, and learn about the Sethis who built these magnificent mansions.
