Ramkot Fort
Ramkot Fort is an ancient fort situated in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, beside the Mangla Dam. It was built in 1186. It is accessible by boat, 13 kilometers away from Dina and 79 kilometers by road from Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, to Dadyal town. Ramkot Fort’s architecture resembles the beauty of Scottish castles but showcases the same architectural features as those of the Mangla and Muzaffarabad Forts, built in the same era. There is only one entrance into the walled premises, possibly to keep the fort secure from attacks. This arched doorway is positioned between two watchtowers, with slopes inside the fort to bring cannons up to the barriers.
