The Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is a Hindu temple in Karachi that is Pakistan's only Swaminarayan temple. The temple stands out for its size and frontage, which spans 32,306 square yards (27,012 m2) on Karachi's M. A. Jinnah Road. In April 2004, the temple celebrated its 216th anniversary. It is thought that not only Hindus but also Muslims pay a visit to the temple, adding to its fame. Within the temple's grounds, there is a sacred cowshed. In Karachi, the temple lies in the heart of a Hindu neighbourhood. The former dharmshala (guest house) for visiting devotees has since been turned into the City District Government's office.
