Pakistan Maritime Museum

The idea to build Pakistan Maritime Museum was around since 1978, the construction started in 1993, and the building was completed in 1997. The museum has six galleries and an auditorium. The museum has a replica of the Manora Lighthouse. To stimulate the ambience of the sea, a huge lake is built on the premises. The lake has a small minesweeper ship and a mini-submarine. The skeleton of a gigantic whale is hanging from the ceiling in the marine life gallery. Climbing on the Manora Lighthouse to have a comprehensive view of the museum is undoubtedly a memorable experience. Visiting the marine life gallery gives you an insight into the different species that inhabit the sea. People visit Pakistan Maritime Museum to learn about maritime history. They can also experience the reproduction of the sinking of the Indian Navy ship Khukri in the 1971 war.
