Marghazar Islamabad Zoo

Islamabad Zoo, previously Marghazar Zoo, was an 82-acre (33 ha) zoo in Islamabad Capital Territory. It first opened in 1978 and was run by Pakistan's Capital Development Authority until December 2020, when it was forced to close owing to animal maltreatment. In May 2020, the High Court ruled to transfer the park management to the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board and transfer all animals to shelters.[3] A renovation of the zoo as a conservation centre is being planned.
