Established as a high court by the British in 1882, Lahore High Court is located on Mall Road. Three other branches of Lahore High Court are Rawalpindi, Multan, and Bahawalpur, but the principal seat is in Lahore. A request by lawyers to set up new high court benches in Faisalabad, Sialkot, D. G. Khan, and Gujranwala was disapproved by Lahore High Court. People from all over Punjab come here to file petitions to settle their legal disputes and get justice. There is a NADRA office at Lahore High Court to facilitate lawyers and their families, who can apply for CNIC and passport without standing in long queues.
