Lahore Fort
Located at the northern end of the Walled City, the Lahore Fort finds its origins to Mughal Emperor Akbar’s reign in its current design and structure. Akbar’s successors renovated and enlarged it several times. The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built Moti Masjid (Pearl Mosque) in 1633 on the grounds of Lahore Fort. The British controlled Lahore Fort from 1849 to 1947.
