Situated in Kharadar, Karachi Port Trust Building is used as the headquarters of Karachi Port Trust. A combination of British, Hindu, and Gothic styles of architecture, this British-era building, designed by the famous architect George Wittet, was completed in 1916. During the First World War, the building was used as a 500-bed hospital. The building spreads over a huge area, about 1 400 square meters. A visit to Karachi Port Trust Building gives you a deep insight into the working of the port of Karachi, which deals with almost 60% of Pakistan’s cargo. Employees of Karachi Port Trust hold important meetings in the conference room. Visitors go there to see the historic building and to get more information about the Karachi Port Trust.
