Kanishka stupa

Located on the outskirts of Peshawar, Kanishka Stupa is named after the Kushan king Kanishka, who ordered its construction in the 2nd century to store Buddhist relics. At the height of 400 feet to 560 feet, Kanishka Stupa used to be one of the tallest buildings globally at the time of its construction. Some historians have been urging the Pakistan government to declare Kanishka Stupa as the eighth wonder of the world. With its tranquil surroundings, Kanishka Stupa makes you want to meditate about the purpose of life, just like Bhikkhus. People visit Kanishka Stupa to learn more about Buddhism and its religious beliefs.
