Hazuri Bagh

Hazuri Bagh is a picturesque garden in the middle of some of the most historic and iconic buildings of Lahore – Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque, Samadhi of Ranjit Singh, and Roshnai Gate. Hazuri Bagh Baradari was constructed in 1818 by Ranjit Singh.Allama Iqbal's tomb is located within Hazuri Bagh. To commemorate the capture of the Kohinoor, Ranjit Singh ordered the construction of Hazuri Bagh Baradari. As a visitor to Hazuri Bagh, you can visualize how past emperors like Ranjit Singh, the Sikh ruler, used to hold their court in the same place centuries ago. Hearing the recitals of Punjabi tales like Heer Ranjha and Sassi Punnun taking place there every Sunday afternoon makes you fall in love with Punjabi culture. Apart from visiting the garden for recreational purposes, people visit the garden to learn about the subcontinent's history and pay their respects to Allama Iqbal, whose tomb is in Hazuri Bagh. A visit to Hazuri Bagh on Sunday provides you the opportunity to listen to the famous Punjabi tales of Heer Ranjha, Sassi Punnun, and other Punjabi poetry.
