Gurdwara Sacha Sauda
Gurdwara Sachcha Sauda, which is 37 miles from Lahore, lies on the Lahore-Lyallpur Railway Line. Guru Nanak was sent as a young man by his father, Mehta Kalu, who sought to instil in his son a sense of business by sending him to purchase certain items that he could subsequently sell and profit from. Baba Guru Nanak is credited with founding the organisation. While on a journey, Guru Sahib came upon some starving Sadhus. He invested his savings on establishing a Langar for the poor and underprivileged. He determined that no deal could be more lucrative than feeding and clothing the destitute. On the site of the real deal, Gurdwara Sacha Sauda Sahib was built.
