The princely state of Bahawalpur is well known for its royal palaces, and one of them is Gulzar Mahal, built between 1906 and 1909. This magnificent palace was constructed during the period of Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan. The purpose of the building of the Mahal was for gentlewomen of the royal family. It has a beautiful garden. The style of the castle is an amalgamation of European and Islamic architecture.
