Gaddaffi Stadium
Constructed in 1959, Gaddafi Stadium serves as the headquarters of the Pakistan Cricket Board. The stadium was renovated before the 1996 Cricket World Cup. Gaddafi Stadium was previously known as Lahore Stadium. It hosted the final of the 1996 Cricket World Cup between Australia and Sri Lanka. It has the distinction of being the first stadium in Pakistan with floodlights and standby power generators. Famous for hosting some of the most thrilling matches, the spectators are sometimes left biting their nails in the crunch moments of the game. Cricket lovers throng to the stadium whenever an international match is played at the venue, regardless of the teams playing.
