Edward House

Another masterpiece designed by Moses Somake, Edward House, was constructed in 1910 on Abdullah Haroon Road (previously known as Victoria Road). The building was renovated in 2012. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, his sister Fatima Jinnah and former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto used to visit the Café Grand, run by a famous baker Herbert Cumper, located on the ground floor of Edward House. Karachi’s most celebrated writers and artists also used to visit Café Grand. The name of Café Grand has been changed to Stars Club in recognition of the film stars of Pakistan. Visiting Edward House is a source of pleasure and an opportunity to see the same place frequented by the great leaders, artists, and writers of Pakistan. You feel their presence around you as Stars Club has portraits of some of the most famous stars of Pakistan. People go to Edward House to visit Stars Club and enjoy the delicious food it has to offer. The building houses different offices, a carpets showroom, a furniture shop, and residential apartments. Visitors go there to explore this historical place and admire its lovely architecture.
