Denso Hall

Located at the junction of Muhammad Ali Jinnah Road, Murad Khan Road, and Marriott Road, Denso Hall, constructed by the British in 1886, was the first public library in Karachi. Denso Hall is named after Max Denso, the Karachi Chamber of Commerce chairman in the 1870s. The official name of Denso Hall is The Max Denso Hall and Library. This magnificent building, built in Venetian gothic architectural style, is a living example of the contribution of the British to promote education in the subcontinent. The literary atmosphere of the building develops a love of reading in its readers. Apart from visiting the library to read books, people visit Denso Hall to explore this majestic piece of architecture and learn about the British decades' influence after they depart from the subcontinent.
