Bashkiri Lakes

There are three lakes in Naltar Valley known as Naltar Lakes or Bashkiri Lakesat altitudes ranging from 3,050–3,150 meters (10,010–10,330 ft). In one of the three lakes color of water is green (due to grasses grown inside the lake) while the second has blue colored water and the 1/3 has azure colored water. The first, Bashkiri Lake is located at a distance of about 12 kilometers (7.5 mi) from Upper Naltar (or the Naltar Bala). The road up to the lakes is a dirt street alongside a stream flowing down the valley. The lakes are surrounded through dense pine forests. The best time to go to the lakes is from May to October. During the winter, it will become nearly not possible to reach the lake by vehicle due to the heavy snowfall in the Naltar Valley.
