Bagh e Jinnah
One of the biggest, oldest, and most famous parks of Lahore, the last name of Bagh-e-Jinnah was Lawrence Gardens, named after John Lawrence, former Viceroy of India. It is located on Mall Road, across from the Lahore Zoo and opposite Governor's House, and was built in 1885. Pakistan cricket team played its first unofficial Test match against the West Indies in 1948 at Bagh-e-Jinnah, serving as a cricket ground since 1885. Bagh-e-Jinnah was originally built on a huge area of 176 acres, but some land was given to Lahore Zoo, Botanical Garden Government College University, and the adjoining roads. It now occupies an area of 141 acres. Visiting Bagh-e-Jinnah is akin to a spiritual experience. The wide variety of trees, the beauty of the place, and the environment's serenity have a tremendously calming and often inspiring effect on you. Children can indulge in their favorite physical activities in a separate play area in Bagh-e-Jinnah. Apart from enjoying the natural beauty, jogging, and picnic, the adults can visit Quaid-e-Azam Library to read a book on their favorite topic and play tennis at the tennis court. Newly-wed couples often choose Bagh-e-Jinnah for a photoshoot to capture the most beautiful moments of their lives at stunning locations.
