Ankara Park

Ankara Park is a huge park close to Rawal Lake. Constructed in 2005, the park is spread over an area of 23 acres. The park was inaugurated on 20th March 2005 by then-Mayor of Ankara Melih Gökçek. According to the plaque, the park is dedicated to ‘the sister city Ankara.’ There is a monument for the Turkish martyrs of the 2005 earthquake who lost their lives while trying to rescue their Pakistani brothers. The park is a symbol of friendly relations between Pakistan and Turkey, two brotherly Muslim countries. While visiting the park, you wish to see more such unity among Muslim countries so that Muslims can reclaim their lost glory. A park is an ideal place for a family picnic, exercise, and a morning walk. Children can enjoy slides and swings. Statues of village women and goats symbolizing village life are significant attractions.
