We all know that K-2 is the second highest peak in the world at 8611 metres above sea level in the Karakoram Mountains. We came across our jeep as we arrived and drove across the Shyok River and past the town of Khaplu. Here, for the last time, we see sights that haven't changed since the days of Marco Polo. After crossing the famous confluence of the Indus and Shyok rivers, we continue through a natural landscape to the busy town of Skardu. Our crossing from the mountains is now complete and will return to Islamabad by land or plane.

 

Hike to K2 Base Camp without a guide
