The Faisalabad clock tower, also known as "Ghanta Ghar" by the general public, stands in the center of Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan. It is the oldest of all the monuments build by the British that remained in its original state and is well preserved. It was built in the 19th century when the British ruled most of South Asia. Its foundation was laid in November 1903 by then the lieutenant governor Punjab Sir Charles. The clock tower interlinks eight major bazaars of the city with itself in a very splendid way. These bazaars are Katchery Bazaar, Chinot Bazaar, Amirpur Bazaar, Bharwana Bazaar, Jhang Bazaar, Montgomery Karkhana Bazaar, and Rail Bazaar.
The clock tower is located in the old area of the city. It forms the shape of a union jack flag of the United Kingdom. On a special occasion like religious festivals and on national festivals, the Nazim or mayor gives a speech and hangs the flag at this site. It is the center point of all activities. All political parties hold their rallies and conventions here.
